The game is based on position, blinds and the order of action on the streets. In Hold’em, the deal starts with the small and big blinds; the dealer button determines the order of play. Players receive two hole cards, then the community cards are revealed: the flop (3), the turn (1), and the river (1). The pot is won by the best five-card combination; if everyone folds, the pot goes to the last aggressor. In Omaha, exactly two hole cards and three community cards must be used at showdown.

• Preflop/streets. Play proceeds clockwise; possible actions: check (if there is no bet), bet, call, raise, fold;
• Minimum raise. No less than the amount of the last raise; all-in less than a full raise does not ‘open’ for further raises;
• Limits. In no-limit games, overbetting is allowed if the tournament rules do not limit the size of the bet;
• Ante. If there is an ante, it is added to the pot before the deal and does not replace the blinds;
• Victory without a showdown. Any pass by all opponents immediately ends the hand;
• Showdown. If there was a bet on the river, the last aggressor shows their card(s) first; if there were no bets, the player to the left of the button shows their cards first;
• Split pot. If there is a tie for the best combination, the pot is split. A ‘burgundy’ straight/flush can lead to a split between several players;
• Side pots. When players go all-in for different amounts, additional pots are created; only the players who have invested participate in them;
• String bet. Not allowed; a bet must be announced or placed in a single action;
• Omaha. Four hole cards; at the showdown, two from the hand and three from the board strictly.

Combinations are compared by seniority; if equal, by kickers and senior cards within the combination.
